Buddy
Holly: Behind the Glasses
September 2, 2005 - February 11,
2006
The Buddy Holly Center is elated to announce the opening of a distinctive
exhibit in the Texas Musician’s Hall of Fame. Buddy Holly: Behind the
Glasses will showcase unique artifacts from the life of Buddy Holly,
West Texas icon. The exhibit is a celebration of the life of the musician,
and is displayed in September to recognize Buddy’s birthday, which is
September 7th. Buddy Holly: Behind the Glasses
will open on September 2, 2005, just in time for the First Friday Art Trail from 6:00 – 9:00 pm that evening.
Buddy
Holly: Behind the Glasses gives patrons the extraordinary chance to
view objects that contributed to the development of the mind that so hugely
impacted music history. The Center has opened their vault to display rare
and never before seen items from the extensive Buddy Holly collection.
Among the artifacts are drawings from Buddy’s childhood, his Fender soft
guitar case, childhood clothing, stage shirts and never before seen photos
of Buddy Holly and the Crickets. Don’t miss this opportunity to see
Buddy Holly: Behind the Glasses before these items are returned to
the vault.
The opening
is just one day before Buddy Holly's 69th Birthday Celebration, on September 3rd
from 11:00am – 8:30pm, so attendees of the party can also enjoy the exciting
exhibit! Visit the Texas Musician’s Hall of Fame during September in
remembrance of the artist that has contributed so much to Lubbock’s
heritage.
