Procesion 2005

A
Citywide Procesión will take place on October 29, 2005 to celebrate
Día de los Muertos or Day of the Dead. The Mexican holiday
traditionally honors departed ancestors, friends and family on November 1
and 2. The progressive four-site procession will include celebrations at the
following locations:
5:30-6:30
p.m. International Cultural Center, 601 Indiana. Live music and artwork by
Kathy Vargas and area artists.
6:30-7:30 p.m. TTU
School of Art, 18th and Flint. Dia-themed art in a variety of
media by TTU students.
7:30-8:30 p.m.
Louise Hopkins Underwood Center, 6th and Ave K. Ballet Folklorico and
ofrendas by area artists.
8:30-10:00 p.m. BHC,
1801 Avenue G. Celebración - invitational art exhibition, catered food and
cash bars, Aztec dancers will perform.
The Buddy Holly Center will be open for
visitors throughout the entire Procesíon. Center hours for Saturday, October
29th will be 11:00am – 10:00pm. For more information on
